I read in Old Cars Weekly that a 57 Imperial
convertible went for 65,000. My point is Imp convertibles are
scarce. Nicely done ones are certainly worth around $30,000 and edging on
up to $40,000 in the not too distant future. The 58 is a hemi
besides. Of course, get it for the lowest price possible, but a very
scarce supply of convertibles and, admittedly, a fairly small number of
interested buyers, still weighs in favor of higher and higher prices.
My two cents, Henry Hopkins, 61 done but are they
ever and a 60 project car and a 57 half done.

Hello Gang;
I would find it hard to
believe that this convertible would be a 95 point car. For one thing it states
that it is an older restoration which will mean a little wear in places. Also
if you look closely under the hood you will notice that someone has installed
an alternator in place of the stock generator, this concerns me as to how well
it was done. The covers for the spark plug leads should be painted black and
not silver. A minor detail but there are also no decals to be found
anywhere in the engine compartment, even on the heating
unit.
For the amount of money that
the want for this car they should at least put it up on a hoist and photograph
the undercarriage. There should also be some shots of the inside of the
trunk, and more photos of the interior. It would also be nice if they had
some closeups of the fenders, rocker panels, and grille. It looks like every
shot of the outside of this car was taken from twelve feet away. I don't
want to pick apart what is probably a very nice car but it isn't
represented very comprehensively. They also are not very forthcoming with what
work was actually done to the car considering what they are likely asking for
it.
Best Regards

i know of this car. i heard from the owner from an ad in
the the boston globe it is actually a 57. anyway i know the owner is
having this collector sell it for him in conneticut. it from what i heard
is 95 point car. pretty strong language from the pics. it has low miles,
less than 1200 were built maybe you guys can get it for 25? it'll only go
up in vaue. so if anyone has 25 grand in their back pocket it's a good
investment. it was on the cape for a while i was going to see it but they
shipped it to conn. act fast, guys!!!
i can't afford it myself.
