Ron and D^2...thanx for the info and the more i rethink this and chit-chat with some car folks here at work i'm going to try and maintain this car as original as possible. Of course as my other email states the color and interior will be changed but except for the change from single to dual exhaust i will be trying to stay as true as possible to my imp. Since i bought it and it is all original why not just work with what i have...initially i was getting a little over zealous but now that i have come down from this re-do high i will take a step back and just replace what is needed to keep her running great. Another question is there a place where i can go to find a rebuild kit for my carb? -----Original Message----- From: D. As an additional downside, headers will fry the underhood compartment. You can try to wrap them with special wraos, but these are expensive and don't last very long. If you really want to improve your exhaust system, you could try buying some reproduction high rise exhaust manifolds out of Year One, but these are kind'o pricy at $500 for the pair. Also, these type of manifolds will make a larger difference at the higher rpm, while the relatively small cam of the stock 440 restricts high rpm performance. So, its hard to tell if the benefit is worth the $500. A dual exhaust is definitely recommended for both your 68's though. You will get a descent performance benefit out of this modification, along with potentially better sound.
