I recently saw a 1949 Chrysler on eBay advertised by Krause/eBay
as "Original" having a V8 engine and automatic transmission. I mailed
Krause,
explaining how the 49 was equipped & asked if the car had any mechanical
alterations. Received mail from them with an 800 # to call. I spoke
with the gentleman (?) who was rather brusque
& he told me the car was "Original, unmolested". When I told him the 1st
V8
Chrysler & Imperial was 1951 & the 1st automatic transmission was the
1953 Powerflite, he said, "I'll check". When I returned to ebay, the
Item was no longer listed. What has brought this to my attention is
Item 181 254 2826, a 50 model with automatic transmission when one
picture shows the clutch pedal. My wonderment is: Is this unethical,
misleading or ignorance.
