Flite Sweep DeckLids

Ahem, one of the reasons for the escalating prices/increasingly scarce
supply of these decklids is that folks are putting them on '62's. That's
find because it's your car to do with as you wish, but '62 did not offer the
Flite Sweep DeckLid. Oh yes, anyone who was paying the price of an Imperial
cluld order what they wanted and maybe some 62's got left over 61's or
something like that. My understanding is '62's did not have Flite Sweep
Decklids.

My two cents again on this subject. And I do know how expensive these lids
and trim are having put one on my 61 convertible that originally came
without one--so I have used up part of the scarce supply as well, alas. To
say nothing of the expense for the trim--$350--from Freman's, fortunately
did not need re-doing, but no deck lid trunk lock piece. Couldn't find one
anywhere so borrowed one from my partner's car and paid to have a casting
done.. Yes, it is getting tougher to restore our babies. Yes, probably a
few of you have spare ones out there, but a year or so ago, no one, but no
one had one. I went through every possible listing in Hemmings and begged
Bob Hofmeister. Found one for $150 somewhere in Delaware that, as
described, was a piece of throw away junk
