A basic tuneup on our pre-computer cars, consists of points and plugs, and if needed, adjustment of the carbureator. Also checked at this time, the pcv if equipped, the tightness of the carb and intake manifold, the condition of any vacuum lines including the big vacuum feed for the power brake booster, and a general inspection of the under hood area for leaks and other general problems. But a basic tune up should get a minimum of points and plugs changed, and timing checked and reset, if needed, after the parts are installed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jason Slaten" <jasonslaten@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, February 25, 2002 3:00 PM Subject: IML: firing position > what is the original firing position for my '71 Imperial Labaron 4 dr. hrd > top...i am going to get a tune up...and i need the original specs...it used > to be on Elijahs page...but his page is gone...please help > > and what exactly does a tune up consists of.... > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com > > >
