I also experienced pretty much the same problem with brakes in my 62 LeBaron when I was bringing it home from Pa. We discovered the only thing wrong was the Rubber hose leading to the brake booster had hardened from age and when the car warmed up a little the hose pinched shut and cut off the vacuum .
