breaking torsion bars

As far as Torsion bars breaking I have seen several break usually when the car is sitting still somewhere, however I dont think I have ever seen one break on anything newer than 1958. I am speaking from my own personal experience ofcourse this would have beenin the days when I was driving late 50s cars daily. I guess I shouldnt have said several but I know personally of  4 different times in 4

different cars from Chrysler however not one of those cars was an Imperial

Torsion bars can break, but think it is rare and not worth any worry, so go ahead and adjust them to what you like, that is what I have done with no problems.
