Impcop/other topics

Allan

I too feel bad if Roy leaves but if he does it has nothing to do with what
you think. What you are missing is private posts explaining the rules. I will
be posting a reminder for all of us that may not realize we even have them.
Unfortunately, they are buried in our web site and not always easily found
and read. Many components of the automobile are similar and universal, carbs,
gear ratio, steering, electronics and on and on. It is quite all right to
discuss any and all of these in general on the list when they are Imperial
related. In using the carb for example, it is easy to talk specifically about
changing metering rods on Carter carburetors with out having to discuss what
make of car they came off. And again that information is wanted and
encouraged. What happens when we start getting brand specific is the Imperial
content is lost and soon we are comparing Toyota's to Gateway computers and
everyone wonders why. If anyone doesn't believe this happens can research the
archives and see. The worst part is things usually develop into a flame war
because people get off the topic and then get p/oed with each other.

Bottom line is anything automotive that can contribute to Imperial ownership
and restoration is fine here as long as it is addressing the Imperial. If my
point was not clear, I apologize to you, Roy and the list. It is a fine line
but is there for a reason. Thanks for speaking your peace, Allan!
