Chrysler/Imperial Designated Classic's

Chris and Mike,

I hope you aren't referring to my recent request that photos of mine on the
IML website be credited to me. As I said in my e-mail, I am happy to share
photos and information when asked. It saddened me to see that you removed
my images rather than use my name.

Chris and Mike, no one pays me to take my photos - just as no one pays you
to volunteer for imperialclub.com.

When I photographed the 1931 Custom Imperial phaeton, it was for the fun of
it. The whole eight hour trip to Auburn and back was for the fun of it. The
days of procecessing digital photos, labeling the photos, making the HTML,
chosing the colors, and writing little stories was entirely for the fun it.

When you posted my pictures without my name, you ignored all that work -
and said "so what" to what could have been a fun story to share. When you
took them down, you said something else.

You know, with all my pictures, I can hardly wait to share them with
Internet readers.

It's not vanity that my e-mail address appears at the top of my car show
pictures. I like it when strangers write to say thanks, or tell a story of
their own. I like it when strangers, mostly non-professionals, write to ask
permission to use the photos on their webpages. I've never said no. It
would have been nice to hear from you!

By the way, free MoPar history has been available at my URL for nearly ten
years. You haven't a mononply on selflessly sharing Imperial.

I'm sorry if you think you were given sour grapes by me or any member. If
you have, maybe you should look again at how you did, or didn't ask, to be
served.

Sincerely,
Dave Duricy

>Hi Jim and List,

>I 100% agree with you. I think it would be a great addition to the club's
>website. Recently, I have been trying to add and compile as much
>information as I can for the early, pre-war Imperials. Unfortunately, I
>know very little about these cars and no member has volunteered to help the

>all Imperial information is obviously not of any real concern to anyone
>except the few who have SELFLESSLY shared with our club. To those who
>have shared with the rest of us, THANK YOU. Personally, I am getting really
>burned out and tired of BEGGING people for more information about their
>Imperials only to be ignored, and worse, to be accused of "lifting" photos
>of Imperials off the internet (which I thought was public domain), implying
>that I, and the other volunteers, am somehow getting paid for this effort or
>getting something out of it other than the shear LOVE of the Imperial marque
>and wanting to keep it alive.

>Sour grapes....I guess so! If anyone would like to add their Imperial to
