Thanx Tony,,,don't know whether I'll attempt to remove the roof trim or
not. The headliner is original and it's in excellent shape.
Are you clear coating your car or going with an original finish?

Richard, Very timely email...thanx. I'm going to start my
search for someone to = paint my 60 this week. I was wondering how
all the trim pieces = attached, especially the side mouldings. Do
you know whether the roof = moldings (seperating the roof from the accent
panels) are attached with = nuts or just pins/clips. I'd hate to
remove my headliner unless it's = absolutely
necessary. Tom
Richard,
I have just removed the roof trim on my '61 LeBaron. I think it is almost
exacly the same as a '60. All the trim is attached with speed nuts or regular
nuts which have to be accessed from inside the roof. Do not attempt to pry any
trim off thinking it may be attached by clips.you will only damage it.
Unfortunately this means that the headlining must be removed. or at least
unglued around the edges and gently pulled towards the centre of the roof. If
your lining is a brittle as mine was, you are probably looking at a
replacement.
If you still plan to go ahead, start with the side windshield mouldings
and look out for the hidden screw at the bottom of each side. It
is concealed behind the rubber seal.
Good luck,
Tony V.
