I thoroughly recommend the Optima battery. It's a bit more expensive than a traditional lead acid type, but it doesn't require the maintenance of a lead acid, and it won't leak either. I have one in my 62 Custom, and my 68 Eldorado. Great battery, and best of all, you can order a cover for it that looks like a vintage tar top type for more authenticity under the hood.
