It requires removing the rear cross member.  SInce the car is not level, I am
not looking forward to messing with it.  I am just curious.

That can be done, especially if the bolt was removed and measure the whole
threaded length.  Not looking forward to that though!

You mean the right left and the left right?  I don't think he removed the
T-bars, he just removed the rear cross member.

Yeah, at low speeds, the extra cubic inches must have helped throttle response. 
However, an ex IML'er used to have a 472 Caddy.  He was saying at medium and
higher rpm's, it had no guts.  Its performance was dreadful.  A 69 NYer he had
later would outrun the caddy real easy.
