Kenyon reminded me privately that 1960 was also stellar year for Imperial Advertising. The tag line for 1960 and the subsequent three years was, "America's Most Carefully Built Car." Imperial production was moved to a separate facility, since there was more commonality among Chryslers, Plymouths and DeSotos and very little with Imperials. But, what a tag line. What an admission. These cars are now as good as we said they were before, only now its true. It is more than a little defensive, don't you think? So, if you want to be able to get a bunch of different adverts for your Imperial, buy one from a year when sales were really suffering or public opinion needed desperately to be changed. Hugh
