I had to add heat to the drum to get my '55 drum off the PS. The DS came off rather easily. It took me a few weeks of trying things with help from club member responses as well. A big wheel puller, heat AND a lot of work and patience did the trick.

I had (still have) the correct puller, a strong neighbor, and a big
sledge...the drums did not come off. It finally took a pneumatic impact on the forcing screw to get them off. A good puller will handle that too, just be sure to use plenty of grease on the forcing screw threads and between the
screw and axle shaft tips.
