RE: IML: 1960 ignition switch

I forgot to mention, the new ignition connector has one extra lead that my old one doesn't.

Yes, I discovered a few minor changes/differences between the two.  Such as mine having an extra wire on the lighting switch (I have virtually no options) and the new harness missing the wire for the heater control light bulb.

It is possible that is the reason for the difference. Running changes were made through the production year. If it has the same number of leads and you are sure that it is original, you should be able to splice in your old connector.

Does anyone know why there would be different electrical connector
configurations on the back of the ignition switch between two different cars?

I'm replacing my burnned up wiring harness with one from Bob. My car has an
alternator, the replacement harness came from a car with a generator. Could
that be the difference?

Thanks,
