IML: Fwd: Seat belts ??? and Updates on 1955 Imperial in Sweden

Everyone, Rickard and Anna would like some input from everyone about installing seat belts in their '55 Imperial Sedan. I have forwarded their note for you all to read below. They are unable to post to the list directly, but are members of the IML and our Imperial Owner Family just the same. Please give them as much help as you can. Thanks!!!

Subject: Seat belts to 1955 Imperial

Dear Paul,

Long time no see.
I hope you're doing ok, I see and read lots of your responses at the IML but as
you
know we can't write back to the list from this e-mail address...

I have a question which I wonder if you would like to help us post to the IML.
We'we been thinking of putting seat belts into our car but so far we just
thought
about it. However, only a couple of weeks ago a married couple we know of were
in a
terrible accident with their vintage Plymouth. They were hit in the side by a
car
not respecting a stop sign and the woman was thrown out of the car getting
serious
head fractures.
This made us decide to put seat belts into our car but we would for sure want
some
tips on where to get them and how to install them in the best way. Any other
people
on the IML who has done this? What companies could we use as a source? How
should we
install the front ones? Any comments would be highly appreciated!

Apart from that I can report that we are in the process of bulding us a new
wiring
system to our car so it's not running at the time. It turns out to be super
nice,
I'm very proud of what I've done so far. About two thirds remain but it's been
surprisingly easy to build once I only found suppliers for the correct
connectors.
The new wiring harness is made with modern cables so they do not look original,
however the most important thing for us is to have a reliable car within a
resonable
budget.

How is your Lincoln progressing and have you made any additional purchases to
your
Imperial fleet?

Anna sends her regards and we wish you all the best!
