Re: IML: Imperial incident (stuck float)

I wish I had known that yesterday as I only got 225 miles out of a tank in my 58 crown coupe when it ran out of gas.
My gauge constantly red empty, so I pulled out the sender unit & it tested perfect.
At a last resort poured some fuel in a bowl & tested the float....... Yes it sank.
On closer inspection realized that two cork round things painted gloss black to resemble the original float wont work, any suggestions ???
is 200 miles the norm for a hemi ????

Get used to using the trip odometer. I have a 66 2 dr and have had everything rebuilt. I still don't trust the guage. I got it to work pretty good(full to empty), but sometimes it shows wierd readings. I fill mine up every 200 miles or so from the trip odometer reading.
