IML: HEMI & the V-8-6-4

My boss Craig bought a '05 300 sans HEMI, a post purchase regret, but he did
get all wheel drive, and GPS, and the V-6 still puts out a good 250 hp. I
did not know the new HEMI was using an updated V8-6-4 technology. He had
just enough memory of the disastrous '81 Schmadillac V8-6-4 which I believe
was all solenoid operated, and in the end, all GM did was unplug the
workings of it, or so to speak. No new engines or anything. So he thought
best to see how it panned out after a year or two. If he got a "Do over",
he would have taken the HEMI in retrospect.

Subject: Re: IML: first hemi

I noticed a month or so ago, when HOT ROD did its issue devoted to the new
hemi ( yes one of a few things that actually did get new and improved for
the most part ) they had a reference to an engine built around 1914 I
believe that was a hemi, though it may just have been a drawing. I know
that some aircraft manufacturers had them going on in the earliest days of
the radial engines. Since I brought up the subject with my earlier post, I
will do whatever I can to substantiate it.
