By kick panels I mean the lowest portion of the doors. On the convertible and Crown Coupe, this area has a ribbed metal plate that runs the length of the door. I suppose this could be called a skuff plate. For whatever reason, the doors in my convertible have no speakers nor holes in the skuff plate to accomodate them. Strange, especially since the build sheet and wiring show that the car came with an 8-track. > There is a third "hole filler" front speaker in the > center of the dash, > which is the same unit as used with the non-stereo > radio. From the looks of the front speakers, it was blue. > It appears you got the whole thing - these have run > on eBay a couple of > times, but they always seem to be missing one or > more parts. I'm glad to have the confirmation. I used your article and the manual to tell the seller where he should look for all the pieces. > There isn't any special procedure to test it - just > plug all the components > together, ground each of the electronic boxes, plug > in the antenna, and it > should play for you. I'm very interested to know how the '68 Multiplex sound compares to the '71 through '73 Multiplex stereos I know and like so well. Thanks for your help, Dick.
