Re: Belt line trim?



I think they painted the recessed area.  I can see painting the belt line trim on Fury models, as they come from the factory painted, and when it is time to put them back on my 64 Fury convertible, I will repaint that area red, as original.  However, Sport Furys had the engine-turned feature, which is pretty spectacular, if in decent condition. 

I would not paint the Sport Fury trim.

Did they paint the entire surface or just the recessed area? I am currently planning on painting the (recessed areas only) with Chrysler's "Argent" silver that was used in the 70s. I have polished all the surrounding, raised areas on the trim pieces. I had thought about painting the recess area with the silver I'm using on the top half of the car but, I think it will look better (more contrast) with the Argent. No way is this a restoration!
