I know this sounds crazy, but in 1965 I had a 65 Belvedere 11. It was light blue with a white stripe painted from the factory. I was in high school and didn't have much money so I would buy different colors of electrical tape and cover the white with which ever color I wanted. It was cheep and would really change the looks of my car.

Did they paint the entire surface or just the recessed area? I am currently planning on painting the (recessed areas only) with Chrysler's "Argent" silver that was used in the 70s. I have polished all the surrounding, raised areas on the trim pieces. I had thought about painting the recess area with the silver I'm using on the top half of the car but, I think it will look better (more contrast) with the Argent. No way is this a restoration!
