Then it seems logical that the valve is not opening fully. Check the heater temp linkage too to be sure the cable is moving 
sufficiently. There's not much to a heater core when you think of it: unless it is clogged due to old age, liquid just flows 
through it. Your '62s core is new so no issue there.
