Re: Radiator/ Electric Fan / Controller Help

Bill, had the same problem. I installed a 16” pusher fan , keeping the stock direct drive fan and radiator. I did my own wiring to a simple toggle switch under the dash. I watch my temp gauge and turn on the fan when needed. Also use the fan to cool the radiator when I turn off the engine, I let run a few minutes then start the engine to circulate the cooler water into the engine and the temp drops quickly. Then shut down.

Even though I've always stuck with stock style configurations when it comes to anything to do my car, I'm tired of being scared of sitting in traffic, and watching my temperature rise.

I'm seriously thinking about getting an aluminum radiator and electric fan combination (never used one before). So far I'm leaning towards Champion radiators (lifetime warranty), three core set up, and a 16 in single Spal puller fan, and harness w/controller. The above package is $500 shipped.

But I'm a little concerned about their harness and as it seems to have some light wiring gauges.

Not sure whether I should maybe use a "Spal" harness and controller like this...

The other issue is that the above controllers have a set temperature (185 on I believe). Should i use a programmable setup like this instead if i want to tweak the temp?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks
