Re: Chrysler Master Tech Video

Good info.  Thanks.  My "expertise" is more in the 57-59 Dodge Forward Look realm. such as it is.  Never knew that Plymouth used Dodge engines with different heads (sort of like the mix-and-match of early Hemi heads on the same blocks as Polys...

The V8 engines in the 1955 Plymouths  were built by Dodge.  The early 1955 Plymouths used the 241-cid Dodge V8, with poly heads instead of the hemi as used on 1953-54 Dodges.  Later 1955 Plymouths used a 260-cid V8, bore increased 1/8", built by Dodge..

The 318 came out in 1957 for the Fury series, and then the base V8 for the 1958 Plymouths.

The 1956 Plymouths used the new A block 277 engine built at the new Mound Road Engine Plant.  It was initially advertised as the Plymouth Engine Plant until mid-1957 when the Mound Road, Trenton, East Jefferson engine production (automotive, industrial and marine) were merged into the new Engine Division.

Great video of building a 1955 Plymouth Belvedere 4dr sedan, 318 poly w/ Powerflite trans, if my eyes don't deceive me.  Nice progression of men, women, Whites and Blacks working together without politics to build great American cars.  Informative, and historical.  Pretty refreshing.....

Worth watching...
