Gary,
I'd love to share some of this rain -- and I know you guys could use it. The Coronet came out of Bakersfield, and I think the prior owner was actually upset it was headed to Washington state. He insisted it be transported in a closed trailer to protect it from the elements! At least we don't salt the roads here on the west side of the mountains.

It sounds like you have very nice Coronet! Moving the battery to the trunk does clean up the engine bay but yes, not sure why the previous owner relocated the battery. It is yours now and I am sure you will enjoy it!
So nice to have a car with such a special significance to you and your wife.
By the way, please send all that rain down here to me in Southern California.

Jake here. Sorry I forgot to leave my name. I recently bought this '65 Coronet 500 in an auction out of California. We had one like it when we got married 48 years ago, so it has special significance to my wife. This one has a fresh 383 and
auto, disk brakes on all 4 corners, flawless black interior, and very nice repaint in the original medium turquois metallic. The body is super straight and all the original trim is there! Even has the original Owner's Manual. One quirk tho' The battery
has been moved into the trunk and a battery cutoff switch installed on the rear panel. This was never a hemi car, so I'm not sure why? Thinking about moving the battery back up front and restoring the trunk layout. I'll share photos if it ever stops raining
here in the Northwest so I can bring it out of the garage. Anyone know of a restoration manual or guide for the '65 Coronets? I'm working off of other folk's photos trying to figure out where stuff belongs. Jake.
