Re: fan clutch question



I have one out of a 73 charger and the original Chrysler stampings on it say to lay flat,that is fan side down when stored..

The Hanes repair manual has: "place the fan clutch  with the radiator side  DOWN" which seems like another way of sayiing "When storing the fan and fan clutch make sure to position the fan clutch shaft facing straight up or the fluid may leak into the fan bearing and cause it to fail."
