Re: fan clutch question

I have been told to never lay them horizontally only vertical.  I have never had a problem storing them vertical ether.  I have talked to people that claim they have had problems laying them down for long periods.

I read in a Haynes repair manual that when the fan / fan clutch is stored off the engine you must place the fan clutch  with the radiator side DOWN. On the web, several videos say to store the fan/fan clutch vertically, like it is on the engine. Any thoughts? I'll stick with the Haynes book advice for now....
