Neal, I have my own metal fabrication business, and do quite a bit of TIG work, stainless, aluminum, carbon, whatever. You'll have to decide how much of it you'll really want to do and what size metal, and choose your machine from that. Name brand machines will def perform better than knock-offs. You'll need an AC machine to do aluminum. This is not possible with a stick welder. Stick and TIG are very similar, just with reverse polarities of each other. Most TIG machines will come with stick abilities, but a special kit is required to go the other way around. Again not sure what you want to spend but Millers Diversion series is great for beginner and heavy enough to be used daily. My buddy went with the Eastwood unit and seems to be happy with that. I run Miller Syncrowave machines in the shop and love them but way too large for hobby use. Let me know if you have any other questions. - Dave On Thu, Sep 13, 2012 at 8:48 PM, neal zimmerman <neal.zimmerman@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > thanky > neal > > -- > -- > -- > Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
