RE: 727 Shifting too early

What year is this car? It reminded me that I have in my parts pile a trans that was removed from a '64 Newport. I kept it because it is pushbutton tranny with the big block bolt pattern, but it has a hole in the side where the parking rod came out, likely from somebody hitting the park lever while it was still moving. I thought it could be salvaged if the hole was welded up by someone who knew what he was doing, has anyone tried something like this?

Ben Morgan

So what if I have cars in my yard

1964 Dodge 330 Station Wagon
1966 Dodge Coronet 500
1964 Dodge Polara 2-dr HT
1954 Ford F-100 (Grandpa's Truck)
1990 Ford Bronco 5.8L
plus a few other wrecks and lawn ornaments
