Re: Aftermarket wiring harness

You should not have any problems with the starting circuit with a
wiring diagram. If you don't have a diagram you can go to this site
and print the sheets you need. I use a Hi-Liter to trace the circuit
I am working on. I'll have different pages for different circuits:

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=26

You can find other sites with diagrams and you can buy larger ones
that are easier to read.

Here is another diagram that is of a later car buy easier to follow
and not much different:

http://www.valiant.org/electrical-diagrams.html

Here he discusses changing to an electronic voltage regulator and
needing to change the alternator and add a wire for the newer
regulator. This can be done or you can just get an electronic version
of the 2-wire regulator that we use.

The actual starting circuit, starter relay and starter will be easy to
work with. If you are going Mopar electronic ignition or Pertronix
you will have to make a few simple changes. I am using a Holley carb
with electric choke, I am going to use a circuit for the electric
choke. One of the times I had the carb off I forgot to put the hot
lead back on the electric choke, it grounded and I damaged wiring
before I saw the smoke.

I have not installed a new harness yet but I do have very good notes
on what I want for circuits and changes to the original circuits. As
an example I will be using relays for the headlights mounted near the
headlights.

I am going to go bya little booklet called Stret rod Wiring which has a pretty good diagram of the Mopar starting circuitversus the GM. I wondering if the EZ wiring had specific Mopar wires, proably not, but I'll see if I can find there diagrams on the web. ThanksNico OverVa.
