did the crank have a large enough pocket for the nub on the converter to fit into?i had this problem once when switching to a automatic from a standard and the problem was that the crank was not machined out large enough for the nub on the converter and it locked the motor i had to pull the motor back forward and used a dremel tool to slightly largen up the recessed hole in the crank where the pilot bearing previously sat only needed to take a few thousands out to make it work

One more idea. Is it possible that insufficient clearance was ground out of the block for the stroker crank?

need be and I don't want to do this unless absolutely necessary is pull
the damper and use the crank turning tool to get back to the first bolt.
My concern is what has locked the engine up.
