Re: Heater Core

I have removed my pipe nipples and just put plugs in them. Also it's pretty easy to remove the whole heater ass'y if you want more space under the dash. Of course you can store it for replacing later or while it's out get the core replaced/repaired.

An even cleaner look is to remove the heater pipe nipples and plug the holes with pipe fitting thread plugs.

But really, on these old engines, the pipe nipples may not come out. When I removed the heater from my hot rod Coronet, I tried removing the heater hose nipples from the water pump housing and ended up screwing them because they would not come out. It was a great excuse to buy a new aluminum water pump housing and aluminm water pump for my 440 engine.
