Heater Core

I noticed a wet spot on the carpet the other day. Heater core is
leaking. Since I have never used the heater and probably wouldn't in
the future I'm just going to bypass it. I plan to use a little air
pressure to push most of the coolant out. Find some vinyl type caps to
seal off the heater core. And then use just enough heater hose to
loop between the two outlets on the water pump. Am I missing anything
here?
