yeah the ice under the water would " shrink", but all the ice above
water ( glaciers, snow packs, green land, antarctica, icebergs above
waterline, etc), while its volume also shrinks when melted, it is
still not water  in the ocean right now, so obviously its going to add
to the total volume of the oceans.
   I personally believe ice is melting. I have climbed mountains and
hiked here in oregon since a kid in the 70s, and glaciers on mountains
that were always there year round, are not there anymore. I dont think
Al Gore went up there and melted the ice just to mess with me.
