Re: Alcohol in gasoline (spin-off from pulsing engine)

Ray is correct, one of the Mopar magazine did some in depth research and found out that their engine made more power with the E-85. It will eat rubber, 10% isn't suppose to effect any of the old fueling systems. It will cost me about $285.00 to covert my '04 Ram to Flex-fuel compatible. Guys, fortunately or unfortunately, it is the coming thing. So if you are rebuilding your fuel systems, put stainless lines in,:-? thinking, and replace rubber gasket in the system.
Even though Ray got about the same mileage there is a fuel mileage penlaty.

Subject: Alcohol in gasoline (spin-off from pulsing engine)

I'm always entertained to see the alcohol in fuel debate occur. See, back in
the 80's up here in Manitoba, a little-known gas station started popping up
all over selling "gasohol". Gasoline with 10% ethanol. They told us that it
would give us better fuel mileage, run cleaner, and leave our engines
cleaner. I don't think that I really paid them much attention.
