Re: Pulsing engine?

A car jetted for plain old gasoline will always run lean when alcohol is added to the gas. Alcohol can damage or ruin gaskets in your carb and can loosen any goo left behind by your gasoline, like varnish. Then the bad stuff goes into your fuel filter(s) and can plug up your fuel line. It costs less at the pump but not everyone sells it and buy the time you burn more of that fuel than you would burn plain gasoline, the price of fuel remains pretty much the same.

So should I add some "octane boost" parts store bottled concoction to the gas in the Mopar now to see what happens with the regular grade "gas" (10% ethanol crud) in there? Or is that "octane boost" stuff more marketing than chemistry?

Thanks,
Gary H.

 Gary,
A lean mixture will cause this condition. No one mentions the fact that
today's premium fuel is the octane equivalent of regular grade back when
our cars were designed. I have to think we should use the good stuff for
best performance or detune to accommodate the lower octane grades.
