Last comments: A 4-row may not have increased cooling much but it should not have hurt it however if you have another 3-row you can put back in it would be an easy test. With your 4-row and your IR thermometer check the temperature at the top tank and bottom where the outlet is when it is running and trying to overheat. If you get a BIG difference in temperature I would suspect the water pump is not moving enough water at low speed. Hard to believe but possible. A change in water pumps is easy and not expensive. If you get the same or near the same reading top and bottom it will tell you that for some reason the radiator is not cooling the water. Radiator problem or air flow problem. I will check my stock 318 with stock fan today and see what readings I get. I run OK on the road but stopped in town or driving through a fast food joint temperature goes up to the top of the safe zone on the dash temp gauge. This is with 105+ temperatures.
