Yea they aren't expensive I was just trying to keep the original stuff workin. I run only real gas. I'll drive all the way across town too. I run premium cause manual said compression is 10:1. I had some regular but it's been put since then, should I still try the colder plug?

to dark for me to make out anything,,,,,,,,but as your describing it, it sounds low,,,,, not a dangerous low, and not unusual for a 40+ year old engine, it will more than likely run for ever and not be harmed as long as it has some pressure and only driven on the street, I would worry if it were constantly being driven at 4500+ RPM
