Sent from my iPhone also you don't necessarily have to lower the crank. With the right tools you can slide the old one out the the new one in by turning the crank and pulling with the Chinese wire pulling tool.

looking at the picture you might want to drop part of the exhaust system from
the manifolds. Makes it much easier to get to
the rear pan bolts and the rear main.
