I've done one on a 350 before, wasn't bad at all, just clearances sucked and had to undo motor mounts, lift motor a little to clear oil pan from frame..

also you don't necessarily have to lower the crank. With the right tools you can slide the old one out the the new one in by turning the crank and pulling with the Chinese wire pulling tool.
