Re: Update & wish list.....

People who own boats have a saying, "a boat is a hole in the water you pour money into". Well old cars are the same, except they are "a hole in the ground (or air) that you throw money into". Enjoyment in both. To what degree(?), is depending on you and your checkbook and how much your wife loves you, lol.

Well, the Dart is apart. The only thing in the front end not showing play
were the inner tie rod ends, so $800 worth of parts later, the labor begins.
Hoping it's done for the weekend. So $900 for the car, $1600 for materials
to do the body, $500 to swap out the tired old engine for a better one,
$1000 for a transmission, $550 for a set of rear leaf springs, $1000 for
killer dual exhaust, and now this. So I'm about $6,350 into a car that has a
current book value of.... About half that? If I'm lucky. :P

Good thing I don't plan on selling this, as the interior will run me another
$1,500, and I have plans to build a stronger engine for next year. Oh, yeah.
A new set of wheels and tires. Yes, I have a sickness. Never before have I
invested more into a car that it can be worth. So why this '62 4-dr post
Dart? Maybe because I can sit it just the half-finished way it is next to
anything at a car show, and attract more attention..... At any rate, I can't
seem to stop wanting to throw money at this beast.... I even sold a '57 Chev
2-dr hardtop in order to concentrate on working on this thing....

That all being said, if anyone has a stock pile of parts collecting dust
that contains stuff I need, please let me know.
- Speedo head
- Driver's door window regulator (4-dr)
- Taillights
- Straight rear bumper
