So far, I haven't been able to find one of those stores. I'm relatively new to the area, so I might just not know where it is. Anyway, AutoZone has a tool loan program, but the puller they have doesn't quite look like it's up to the task; it's not designed for hammering, for starters. Those pullers are clever! I think, though, that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a proper puller. There's just so many things I want to tackle this year on this car, and I hadn't figured in spending another $150 on a tool. Another interesting link. Oddly enough, the noise doesn't get any louder when I turn, but it does get quieter, which I suppose could still mean a bad bearing. A bearing and race are like $25, or something. However, it looks like (according to the manual) removing the bearing requires YET ANOTHER expensive puller. UGH. By the time I get all these new tools that I will almost certainly not use more than a handful of times, I might as well take it to a mechanic. Good grief, this is frustrating...
