Thanks for all the good suggestions! Poly 318 2 bbl with points distributor. 

I did not have much opportunity to troubleshoot yet. I did discover that there was spark to the plug with it pulled and attached to the plug wire and the starter cranking.

Any suggestions on a compression tester to buy? The one I had is missing in action.
