When the Polidan car took Best of Show at the, um, '95 Nats I think it was, I spoke with them and they explained that she had painstakingly cleaned the pieces of the boot they had, glued it back together along the various splits, and to keep it in one piece they installed it only for judging and showing. Actually since I have a 4 speed in mine and may not ever bother to track down and spend the bucks for a T-85, I suppose the modern boot will do me.
