MO I know the feeling well and you have stated it better than I ever could. It gets to me when my family (wife) says; why don't you get a pro to do that? Number one reason is, I can't afford it and also because I want to do it myself!!!! Start of Rant. It pisses me off when I go to shows and a guy is talking about how he did this and he did that when it is obvious that he paid to have the car restored. Hint to that type of car owner...If you don't have grime under your finger nails and barked knuckles; you didn't do it. I try to keep my hands as clean as possible and even wear gloves but the dirt and grime still gets in. I know that my car is not a show winner and rides like a log wagon and won't corner worth a damed but it will go fast straight and make a lot of noise doing it. There is nothing like driving your old car and know it is running because of you.
