First off, this is judt my ramblings and certainly not critism. I like to go to car shows even tho I know I have no chance of a trophy. Most shows are participant judged. Strikes against me: It's a Mopar- No billit- no braided lines- no exotic fuel inductions-no super bling wheels- no high dollar one of a kind paint job- Mostly all original interior. I built this car to suit only MY taste knowing full well it goes against what it takes to win car shows. This is a driver and I do not enjoy making sure there is not a single bug speck or unclean spot on it.What I am proud of is that it is a home built car. It is well crafted - We are not afraid to drive it- not even in the rain if necessary. I don't have a fortune in it if you don't count my hours of enjoyment labor.. My favorite trophy was a completly un expected ( it was at a bigger show) special judges pick entitled " for a labor of love" It is a car that is certainly un- common. A 1956 Chrysler two door hdtp with a 354 Hemi..What is the future for this car when our generation is gone? Hopefully my son will take good care of it.Same for my current project , a 1964 B body Dodge 2 dr hdtp. Built soley for my enjoyment of re- living the good old days. Done just the way I would have done it in the Mid 60's It will not win shows---- " what? a four speed? everyone knows that a well built automatic will beat that at the drag strip" :-) " what is a Sun Super sst800 tachometer? everyone knows a big Autometer tach is better for the driver" " What is a Stewert Warner electric fuel pump? Man I can hear thet noisy thing a block away!" " This car would look a lot better with some billit wheels on it instead of white painted steel wheels on the back and those cheap looking plain chrome wheels on the front" " Why is there mesh screen wire in place of your inner headlights" " Why are you using a ( brand X ) hoodscoop and you have it installed backwards ? "" Why is it jacked up so high? that thing won't corner near like a Vette"No the car wont win shows and won't be worth much when I can't seed shift anymore, But I will really enjoy talking to the people that already know the answers to all those questionsIt takes special people to enjoy pre 1968 Mopars That is why so few were saved and seen at cruise ins and car showsJust my de-flated $.02 worth....................................................MO{Steve Mick} http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mick64.html ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
