Re: In-Car Pan Removal Update

Be sure to put a very tiny bead of silicone sealer from the seal to the edge of the brg cap. And don't knick the upper. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis C." <dennis.2914@xxxxxxxxx>

No Problem!

I dropped the Center Link by removing it from the Pitman Arm and Idler
Arm. I left it attached to the Tie-rod Ends, the bar dropped straight
down and gave me plenty of room to remove the pan.

Rear seal was just as easy, I have it out and getting ready to put it
back.

I just got my 63 Sport Fury with a 383 and 4-speed back together and ran

it for the cam breakin. Everything is going great except I have two
leaks:

Oil pan is leaking in the front right corner where it meets the timing
gear cover.

My rear oil seal is leaking.

I really don't want to pull the engine, is there any reason I can't
remove the pan with the engine in the car?

Any secrets to installing the rear oil seal? I've put in two and I have

had two leakers, sure looks like I am doing something wrong.

Thanks
