RE: fusible links vs fuses

Other than authenticity Steve, is there an advantage to using a fusible link? I'd think an in-line visible glass fuse would be preferable, but there are several "how to"s on the web for gauging and installing fusible links, so it must have appeal to use for some reason. Are there fusible links in the electrical system of the survivor 64 Sport Fury that you inspected for me before I bought it?

Hi Butch,
A fusible link is a length of wire that acts as a fuse compared to the 
standard glass tube style fuses. What happens is if the circuit protected by 
the fusible link overloads, the inside of the wire will melt.
