I had a problem with a slight warp on a set of aluminum valve covers a few years back. I ended up cleaning all the oil off the valve-cover gasket surface. Then I found the thickest cork gasket set I could find (Mr Gasket, if I remember right). I put a decent layer of silicone on the cover side of the gasket, stuck it to the valve cover and hand-tightened to the engine with a t-wrench. After they were dry, I tightened them down a little more and never had another leaking problem on that side.
If you ever have to change it, it does make it a pain cleaning the valve cover next time, but it did prevent the drip.

Sounds like the valve cover may be slightly warped. (Arn't we all? heh heh).I've heard people report they have had good luck with "The Right Stuff" brand gasket maker they used on valve covers. Thanks,Gary H.-----Original Message-----I seem to be snake bit when it comes to valve cover installation. In the past I have done well however just on the right side of my 383 I have installed 3 gaskets, different types and the one on now is leaking.---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
