${top_text_ad} This may sound silly but I was having problems with the valve cover gaskets on my 383. I finally came to realize the bolts were too long. They looked stock and were painted Dodge blue by the last guy that rebuilt the engine. When I checked them out against bolts from an old motor I have kicking around, the bolts were about 1/8 longer. They were bottoming out and not getting a good clamp on the gasket. Just another thing to check.
